What is your check in and check out times?
Check in time is 3:00 PM and check out time is 12:00 PM (noon).

Do I need a credit card to make a hotel room reservation?
A credit card is required at the time you make a reservation to book your room. Your card will not be charged until your visit.

What is required to check into a room?
Guests must be at least 18 to make a reservation and/or check into a room. A valid credit card, valid driver’s license, ID or passport are required for check-in. A valid active membership card, such as an AAA card, required for membership discounts; discount offered are based on availability

Do you have smoking rooms?
No. The Rio Grande Inn is a 100% non-smoking hotel. A cleaning fee of $200 will apply due to smoke odors or damage if any evidence of smoking is found.

Do you accept all pets?
No, but we welcome families who are traveling with their dogs. Unfortunately, we only have a limited number of rooms that we have designated as “dog friendly”. A non-refundable $30 pet fee is charged per day with a $90 per week maximum. Reservations are recommended as we respect our guests with dog allergies and do not place animals in non-designated pet rooms.

What is your cancellation policy? Is there an early departure fee?
Room reservations may be canceled up to 24 hours prior to arrival (before 3PM). There are no early departure fees.

What are the taxes for a hotel stay?
All hotel bookings are subject to taxes including the Albuquerque Lodger’s Tax of 6% and the NM Gross Receipts Tax of 7.1875%. Please note: tax rates are subject to change.

How do I make reservations for a group (family reunion, club, etc.)?
Call our reservations department at 1-800-959-4726 to make group. If you are looking to block rooms for a group with a special rate please contact our sales department at 505-217-1630 or 1-800-959-4726.

How does your complimentary shuttle service work?
The BEST WESTERN PLUS Rio Grande Inn provides complimentary shuttle service to and from the Albuquerque International Airport from 7:00am to 10:00pm daily. Guests who arrive or depart before or after shuttle times are responsible for securing and paying for their own transportation. The airport pick up location is on the airport “baggage claim” level. Please call the hotel front desk at 505.843.9500 after retrieving your luggage. Departing guests should speak with the front desk the day before they wish transportation to reserve space on the shuttle.

Does the hotel have free Wi-Fi internet access?
Yes. There is complimentary wireless Internet access in all guest rooms and public areas. There are also Ethernet connections in all guest rooms.

Is your pool open year-round?
Yes, our heated outdoor pool converts to a “domed” indoor pool between the months of November through April.

How many people can stay in a room?
We allow up to two people in our single king and queen rooms and up to four people in our double queen rooms.

What are directions to the hotel?
From the North: Follow Interstate 25 South to the Interstate 40 Westbound Interchange. Proceed West on Interstate 40 to Exit 157A onto Rio Grande Boulevard.

From the South: Follow Interstate 25 North to the Interstate 40 Westbound Interchange. Proceed West on Interstate 40 to Exit 157A onto Rio Grande Boulevard.

From the East: Follow Interstate 40 West to Exit 157A onto Rio Grande Boulevard, Inn is South of Interstate 40 on Westside of street.

From the West: Follow Interstate 40 East to Exit 157A onto Rio Grande Boulevard, Inn is South of Interstate 40 on Westside of street.

What is the weather like?
Albuquerque is renowned for having the best year round weather in the USA. Low humidity and warm temperatures (70°F/21°C is the yearly average) combine to make Albuquerque an enjoyable destination during any season.

Albuquerque lies at an elevation of over 5,000 feet, and enjoys a high desert climate. Days are generally sunny and warm but as the sun sets, the temperature falls; the city experiences an average change of 27 degrees from day to night all year.
