Cool Off In The Water This Summer

Albuquerque can certainly get hot during the summer, so we came up with some fun ways for you to cool off!

Cool Off In The Water This Summer

People don’t generally think of large bodies of water when they visit New Mexico, but we’ll guide you to the best places to beat the summer heat!

Go Fishing On Bluewater Lake

FE Guides will take you fishing on Bluewater Lake, where you can catch tiger muskies, a large and uncommon freshwater fish.  With the cool breeze on the water, it’s a beautiful way to spend a day – or only half a day if you have other activities you want to visit as well!

Learn To Scuba Dive

You don’t need an ocean to learn to dive!  Deep Blue Scuba offers classes that will teach you the basics, from safety measures to in-water skills.  If you already know dive basics, check out their night diving class – the skill will give you the ability to explore underwater in a whole new light.

Cliff’s Amusement Park knows how hot it gets, which is why they opened Watermania!  A full waterpark with slides, pools, and a squirt park for kids, it’s the best place to have unadulterated fun while staying cool.  If you want to dry off, just hit the main amusement park for some rollercoasters or games!

Ride The Rapids

Los Rios River Runners will take you whitewater rafting, giving you the opportunity to enjoy some wild rapids!  The Lower Gorge trip, for instance, features some class three rapids, but if you’re looking for pure adrenaline rush, try the Taos Box – it’s nonstop excitement!

Don’t let the heat get to you – put aside a bit of time to enjoy the water fun in Albuquerque!
