South Piedra Lisa Trail

South Piedra Lisa Trail is a moderate 4.4 mile hike thats very popular amongst local hikers and trail runners. It features beautiful wild flowers and picturesque views of canyons and rock formations. On this hike, you may encounter numerous wildlife, such as squirrels and various birds.

Piedras Marcadas Canyon Trail

Piedras Marcadas Canyon trail is a fantastic 2 mile hike for all skill levels. This trail features sandy trails with lava rocks and petrolgyphs. In fact, it has some of the largest petroglyph concentrations in the National Monument! The name of this cultural landscape translates to “canyon of marked rocks”. If you want some enjoyable views and a pleasant, quiet trail experience, then this trail is for you!

La Luz Trail

La Luz Trail is a well-known challenging hike that offers spectacular panoramic views of Albuquerque!  The trail goes from hot desert landscape to cool Canadian forest. It offers the chance to see a wide variety of wildlife and wildflowers. It’s a difficult 13.3 mile long hike, so make sure to bring plenty of water, food, and plan enough time for the trip. Also, there is a $3 fee to park.
